Among many other things, Neb KaRa Kherishetapheru is a farmer and past health food store owner on St. Croix, VI. According to his recollection, guinea grass chlorophyll was used from as early as the 70s right on St. Croix. As far as the chlorophyll is concerned, he first learned about wheatgrass chlorophyll in the 70s.
“In my studies, I came across what is called the wheat grass chlorophyll, which was one of the recommendations for cleansing the body and you know, giving back the body back the nutrients after cleansing,” he said.
He gained knowledge of wheat grass chlorophyll from research including that done and taught by Viktoras Kulvinskas and Dr. Ann Wigmore, co-founders of the Hippocrates Health Institute, which is presently rated as the top health resort by the International Spa Industry.
He then reflected on what he saw in nature on St. Croix that influenced him to start making guinea grass chlorophyll.
“There were these enormous bulls. I looked at them and I just watched what they were eating. I looked at them and I said to myself, elephants eat grass, the bulls eat grass…,” he said.
This lead him to using the guinea grass himself as a drink for healing himself and his family as well as those who bought from his store.
This historical recollection of events that lead up to the increased popularity and use of guinea grass chlorophyll in the Virgin Islands is part of an ongoing study named the #VIChlorophyllConvo.
