MONDAY Dec 26th – UMOJA (Unity): African Diaspora Youth Development Foundation, Inc. in conjunction with Sankofa Saturday’s, presents its 42nd Annual Kwanzaa Festival Monday, December 26th 7pm -11pm at Wesley Methodist Educational Complex next to Four Winds Plaza. Admission is FREE (Donations appreciated)
2:00 p.m on St. John at the Franklin Powell Park. 22nd annual Kwanzaa celebration by Sigma Theta Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. honoring Carlos Woods of Mongo Niles and Mary Powell of StJ. Will have cultural presentations.
TUESDAY Dec 27 – KUJICHAGULIA (Self-Determination): Pan African Support Group & Environmental Rangers presents the Kujichagulia Program and Karamu at the Addelita Cancryn Junior High School Cafeteria from 6:30pm. Admission is FREE (Donations welcome of course)

The Echo People , our grand African Drumming group were on point as always. Thanks to Brother Wade and the children that volunteered to do an interpretive Anansi story and of course Isis Collier, and her beautiful violin music! Thank you Jerrisa Lake, Jahcira Hodge and Isis for setting up. Thanks to Edith Jennings and Isis for doing the stop the violence skit with our great young male volunteers. Thank you, President David Hall and your beautiful wife with your attendance and powerful words. And last , but not least, the food and drinks prepared by Elridge Thomas, Benita Martin, Jaribu Bobo, Edith Jennings, Isis Collier.
