This year there’s an easier way to apply and take advantage of the opportunity to be part of the 32nd annual St. Thomas – St. John Agriculture and Food Fair (AgFair) event on November 21-22, 2015 for showcasing your local food, arts and crafts, cultural musical and performance entertainment segments or petting zoo animals on the St. Thomas campus of the University of the Virgin Islands.

“The entire community is invited to join us for the 32nd celebration of the St. Thomas/St. John Agriculture and Food Fair. Come out and support our farmers and culture bearers! This annual event is a family oriented occasion with attractions, fun, and learning for everyone!” says AgFair Committee President Dr. Louis E. Petersen, Jr.

As a special addition to this year’s fair, Howard Forbes Jr. and Jarvon Stout of the Virgin Islands Marine Advisory Service (VIMAS), will also be on the Reichhold Center fairgrounds introducing Art By the Sea.

“Every year, VIMAS organized Coastweeks and tons of trash is collected from our beaches which ultimately goes back into our landfill which doesn’t solve our problem of having an almost full landfill. Through Art By the Sea and our collaboration with the AgFair, we hope to turn some of this garbage into recyclable products that can be used for artistic display as well as agricultural purposes,” said Forbes and Stout.

The AgFair Committee is an organizing group consisting of staff from the University of the Virgin Islands Cooperative Extension Service (UVICES), the Virgin Islands Department of Agriculture (VIDOA) and Fintrac along with members from the general community.

To fulfill their mission, the committee depends on contributions and collaborations from organizations, individuals, and businesses. Fill out an application and learn more information on ces.uvi.edu.
